Sarah Grossman assists with prosecuting foreign and domestic patents in the commodity chemical and oilfield industries. Mrs. Grossman primarily works on drafting and prosecuting patents in the areas of polymer production, drilling fluids, olefin production, hydrocarbon cracking, gasification, commodity chemical production, and upstream oil and gas production.

Prior to attending law school and joining OBWB, Mrs. Grossman was a Facilities Engineer for BP America, Inc. (BP), and supported upstream natural gas wellsite production.  During this time, she led wellsite equipment installation projects, and performed various process engineering and process safety functions.  While at BP, Mrs. Grossman rotated offshore as an Offshore Facilities Engineer on the NaKika Platform MC 474.  While offshore, she shepherded the Management of Change (MoC) system, performed process monitoring, executed Pre-Startup Safety Reviews, supported MoC risk assessments, and led various OpEx projects.

Mrs. Grossman spent the balance of her engineering career at LyondellBasell (LYB), supporting polyethylene and olefins facilities as a Process / Production Engineer.  During this time, she performed daily process monitoring activities, supported operations, improved the MoC system, and led OpEx and CapEx projects targeting variable cost reduction.  While at LYB, Mrs. Grossman collaborated with R&D to lead plant trials and execute specialized testing to resolve process disturbances.

Mrs. Grossman utilizes the industrial intuition she developed as an engineer in her work drafting and prosecuting patents.
