Dr. Hickey is a European and UK Patent Attorney with over six years of IP experience. Michelle started her career in intellectual property law as a trainee patent attorney in 2016. She has skillfully drafted and prosecuted patent applications across a wide range of areas, including telecommunications, mechanics, automated vehicles, fire detection systems, computer-implemented inventions, AI, medical devices, memory and storage, and semiconductor technology.
Working with inventors from SMEs to large companies, Michelle assists with determining strategies for patent protection, including what inventions to pursue and in which jurisdictions. She has conducted freedom-to-operate analyses for several SME clients and has experience with oral proceedings before the EPO.
 
Prior to joining OBWB, Michelle worked for Marks & Clerk in London. She currently resides in France where she works with the firm's Paris team.
