Hangzhou Seminar: The Latest Practice and Strategy of Invalidation Procedure for Chinese and American Patents

Osha Liang co-hosted a half-day seminar titled, “The Latest Practice and Strategy of Invalidation Procedure for Chinese and American Patents” in Hangzhou with Yuyang IP on September 13, 2017.  The seminar was organized under the aegis of the Zhejiang Science and Technology Market. The opening speech was given by Mr. Wang Jinsheng, the Director of Zhejiang Science & Technology Market. Over 20 companies and IP law firms attended the seminar.

The seminar included two main topics. The first presentation was given by Osha Liang Partner, Dr. Jeffery Langer, and translated by Osha Liang Associate, Han-Mei Tso, on “U.S. Contentious Matters –District Court, International Trade Commission, and Post-Grant Proceedings.” Following the coffee break, YuYang IP patent manager, Mr. Yao gave the second presentation on “The Analysis of the Invalidation Practice of Chinese Patent and Strategy to Respond.”

During the Q&A session, attendees from different companies and IP law firms discussed the invalidation procedure in the US and China. The seminar was concluded with the closing address given by Mr. Lv Dejun, the Head of Industry Promotion Department of Hangzhou Binjiang Science & Technology Bureau.
