Dr. Wang is a data scientist, geophysicist, and a patent holder. He assists with preparing and prosecuting foreign and domestic patents. Specific areas of focus include: supervised and unsupervised machine learning, deep learning, computer vision, NLP, neural networks, CNN and encoder-decoder architecture for fault detection and facies classification, Self Organized Maps, lithofacies classification, quantitative interpretation, waveform inversion, imaging, velocity model building, AVO analysis, noise attenuation, and multi-component processing.
Prior to joining Osha Liang, Dr. Wang worked as a data scientist and senior geophysicist at Geophysical Insights, and also as a data scientist and assistant chief developer at SeismicPPS, LLC (NNPC-IDSL), Sinopec Tech, ConocoPhillips, CGG and other independent E&P oil and gas companies in Houston. His years of research and development experience have provided him with a depth of knowledge and insight essential to the innovative field of machine learning.
